Note that this is actually a 4.5 star rating. The reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is because (a) their romance went a bit fast for my taste. I need a little more time for characters to decide that this person is their true love. But that's just my preference and probably not realistic in a story this short (b) I didn't love that her fiance didn't know they were broken up when she kissed Luc. I just feel like that's cheating. You can't move on to the next person until you've completely ended the relationship you're still in. However, I can also see that it totally worked for the ending.Despite those minor hiccups, I really loved this story. I loved Elle and her sweetness. I thought Luc was absolute perfection and I thought the author did an amazing job bringing them together. The ending was everything I wanted it to be and the story didn't feel short to me at all. Overall, I highly recommend to anyone who wants a sweet, quick read.

Christmas Star Star Tide Book 1 edition by Christine Ashworth Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
The book was okay, though it seemed a bit too “fairy tale-ish”. The connection both of them felt when they first met and the soul-searching kiss was like “Love at first sight” and “true love’s kiss”. Sorry. Also, for me, their romance was too fast and fairy tale-ish. But if you’re okay with books having fast romance, then this book would be fine for you.
Short, satisfying novella that's perfect for the holiday season. Despite the story's brevity, the romance is convincing, the characters carefully crafted, easy to like. There's a sense of authenticity both about Hollywood and the world of professional cooking. Recommended for a leisurely afternoon or bedtime read.
I loved that this novella was sweet, fun, and clean sexy. It kept it innocent enough I could share it with my 14 year old daughter, but built the tension of two characters meeting, establishing immediate chemistry, but handling the pull with care and responsiblity to conclude unfinished business elsewhere, before committing to something new. A nice message as well as a story that will make you smile. Plus, what woman doesn't dream of a handsome man who knows his way around a kitchen! One can't ask for more than that. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
Charming tale of a not-quite runaway bride, and a lover who knows how to tempt all her senses. At just under 50 pages, this is the perfect way to treat yourself without investing huge amounts of time you get forbidden romance, luscious food, steamy sex, and a happily ever after Christmas wedding WITHOUT that pet peeve of mine, rushing to the altar.
Highly recommended.
What a beautiful story. This romance is definitely about soul-mates. But it also digs deeper into trusting your gut when something doesn't seem quite right. The characters were well drawn, the story setting delightful, and the food! Wow! Best not to read this if you're on a diet. I didn't have one piece of chocolate, or one cookie in the house. Ha ha. So, stock up on the goodies first, kick back into your favorite reading chair, and enjoy.
I've been a huge fan of Ms. Ashworth's Caine Brothers series and again Christmas Star is another completely satisfying story. She has that amazing ability to bring all her characters to life so you care about and believe in them. Luc may seem like the perfect man, but he's still human. Elle felt like a good friend, she seemed that real. Even Taylor is pretty much like many of the people I've worked with in Hollywood. And Conway, well, any character based on Lord Peter Wimsey is all right by me.
Everything about this book makes it a delightful read and I can't wait for the next in the series!
A modern-day, sweet-as-hot-chocolate, fairytale with dialogue reminiscent of black-and-white movies from the forties. A fabulous beta male chef hero who constantly made my mouth water, and a real-sized heroine who deserved more in life than her unreachable super star fiancé. Toss in a chance meeting at an exclusive resort the week before Christmas, add immediate attraction, fold in a little magic and wrap with gauzy lensed settings and ultra-romantic scenes, then watch as Christmas Star’s charm brightens your holiday spirit.
